Chapter 6 – Dawning Awareness

- Spiderman, took a while to regain his composure, and painfully moved towards the only place he could think of that could help him. His spider-sense was killing him, and he managed to go through the pain, unable to focus his mind on one single idea without the blaring sense of warning and danger. As best as he could Spidey made his way to the nearest rooftop across from the Baxter Building, the Fantastic Four headquarters. With the last of his strength Peter switched on his spider-man light symbol onto the face of the building and then crumpled into paralyzing spasms, the strain of his spider-sense being too much for him.  Reed was monitoring the lack of readings from his subspace and deep space sensors when Sue noticed the red light on the face of their building.

Reed left the lab, got to the nearest window and reached out for their fallen ally and brought him in. Ben stepped up from the kitchen (for a mid afternoon snack) to see what the hubbub was about and then carried the wallcrawler to on of Reed's stasis tables while Reed began to fire up a a medical scanner. The unusual activity in Peter Parker's brain, especially the electrical storm of neurons for the spider-sense, looked like the pattern Reed had just seen in his deep space probes. Suspecting that Spiderman's heightened awareness and having Spiderman show up at this time claiming trouble added a new wrinkle to the situation. Reed began an immediate priority dispatch of all the telemetry he was receiving to his allies: the Avengers, SHIELD and the X-men. The eye-witness reports coming in from SHIELD about the disappearance of the mutant hero squad called X-Factor made matters much more grim.

The heroes agreed to convene at Reed's headquarters, with a message for all reserve members and random super powers were also called in. Reed also delivered the message to the Eternals of Titan, the Eternals of South America and the Atlantean's, under Namor the Submariner's reign. Most of the mystically powered people had some difficulty manifesting their powers, some powers were not working or were working too powerfully. The Titan scientist Mentor confirmed Reed's findings about deep space, matching the data with Quasar at the Project Pegasus satellite near Jupiter's orbit. The quantum field was in flux, probabilities were going down, as if alternate decisions were being eroded away.

And then Franklin Richards, the young son of Reed and Susan Richards, made a silent discovery of his own. On the blank observation monitors that were off, Franklin could point out and see every item in the lab, but could not see the reflection of himself or any of his family at all.

- The five great mages began to discuss the ramifications of what Dr. Doom has just confided in them, forming a mystic pentagram to channel their energies and mask their searches from those around them. The Ghaur he had plucked from the time stream was not the present day one, but the priest at the height of his powers, having recently visited the great mystical library from Alexandria and recorded everything to memory. No prophecy in any of the tomes or scrolls or known tongues he had amassed discussed the event they were experiencing. Morgan le Fey was also not aware of this turn of events from her time period, nor in any of her tutelage with the sorcerer Merlin. Selene was likewise unable to provide information, her experience with the time traveling alpha and omega level mutants and their memories never mentioning any of this. Belasco was also at a loss, his connection to every realm in existence through Limbo could not turn up any information, and the dimensional cairns to other realities were disappearing, as if they never had existed.
